I decided to use bcdedit though rather than EasyBCD because it gives more options for booting ATM. This too worked very well, and I can use EasyBCD to create another boot option to "native boot" into the VHD. I installed Windows XP on an MBR disk (Disk 2). Instead, I made a VHD using the install.wim and a powershell script. I added Windows7 to my multi-boot system (3 XP installations, 1 DOS, 1 XP repair console ). I have a Win 7 and Win 8.1 dual UEFI boot on a GPT disk (Disk 0). Next I wanted to make a VHD of my current install. Created an entry to load ISO from RAM, set boot screen to a 5 second timeout.
